The 2012/2013 Primary 4 class, at Garrowhill Primary School in Glasgow, have been learning about Weather and Water as part of this years topic work. Stephen Macklin of Xylem Water Solutions, had been invited to school to explain to the class where Glasgow’s drinking water comes from, and how it is treated after we have used it.

No dia 22 de março, A Secretaria Municipal de Ambiente e Agronegócios de Seropédica realizou um plantio de 500 mudas em comemoração ao Dia da Água. Participaram deste evento aproximadamente 200 moradores do bairro Santa Sofia, incluindo adultos e crianças, na ocasião também realizamos a análise da água do córrego que corta dois condomínios do bairro.

Students of Green Montessori and Fauji Foundation Model schools conducted an event on the occasion of World Water Day 22nd March 2013. One hundred and thirty-three students took part and collected water samples from a nearby hand pump. Surrounding area was mostly agricultural and the weather was cloudy.

Weeks before our expedition even started I knew that we were going to be pushed to our boundaries in both mental and physical aspects of the trip. Seeing all the beautiful plant life and animal life along the [Mkhomazi] River was a stern reminder for me on how blessed this country is.

Within this past week we've completed and expedition with many different aims, chief amongst them was raising water awareness. We tried enriching rural areas by touching the most active part of their society, the children, by educating them about water in an attempt to affect the longevity of our river system and the ecology therein.

Done at last! One of the comment of the SMC-BED ECO Club member. It can be recalled that the club has been invited to join the water monitoring activity initiated by Iligan City East High School-Hinaplanon on December 8, 2012. However, the activity was cancelled because the monitoring site (Mandulog River) was badly hit by typhoon "Pablo".
